Shop to Support: Upward Transitions

Upward Transitions is inviting the community to shop to support the important work of ending generational poverty. In partnership with Silver Leaf Gems, 15 W. Campbell St (Edmond), you are invited to shop to raise funds for the important work of homelessness prevention and emergency relief.

20% of your purchase this weekend, December 5-7, both in-store and online @ www.silvergems.com, will be invested in our day-to-day operations, which are essential to housing those who are homeless and preserving housing for those who are at risk. This day-to-day work includes case management for those seeking housing and emergency assistance for those who are most vulnerable.

Since 1925, Upward Transitions, a United Way community partner, has served thousands of individuals, families, and seniors who are or who have experienced poverty and/or homelessness. With the help of the Upward Transitions’ programs and services, many families and individuals have experienced personal and economic success.  During 2018-2019, Upward Transitions assisted more than 3,300 people with direct services which included transportation, housing support, and accessing legal documents. Each year, Upward Transitions invests real dollars into families in the Oklahoma County community to end generational poverty and prevent homelessness.

We are incredibly thankful to community partners, like Silver Leaf Gems, who invest in the important work of ending generational poverty in our community. For more about this event, go to Upward Transitions’ Facebook page.
